Sally Ramos

May 10, 1933 — May 10, 2014

Sally Jane Ramos, 81, of Leawood, KS, was reunited with the love of her life, Dr. Americo "Rick" Ramos, on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at her home.

She was born April 20, 1933, in Utica, NY, to Marjorie Robinson Fuller and Frederick Henry Fuller, Jr. She grew up in New York State and enjoyed spending her summers with her brother, Chip, at the home of their Grandparents at Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfboro, N.H. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO, and went on to work at Albany Hospital as a social worker when her future husband, Dr. Ramos, saw her from across the cafeteria and told his friend "I am going to marry that girl!" After a brief courtship they married and eventually settled in Kansas City where they raised their five children, which she was so proud of. Some of her happiest times were in Hilton Head, SC. She also enjoyed walking, whether it was on the beach or with her friends and family, and always with her beloved Noodles by her side. She had a green thumb and loved her roses, flowers, and working in her yard with her boys. She also loved the arts and was active in the Symphony and Philharmonic League.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years and her parents.

She is survived by her five children, Adrianne Noah, Debbie (Whitney) Kerr, David (Karen) Ramos, Karen Jane (Ben) McCarty and Richard (Rebecca) Ramos and her eleven grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Charles (Gerry) Fuller.

A visitation for Sally will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Children's Mercy Hospital, c/o Philanthropy Department, 2401 Gilham Rd, Kansas City, MO 64108.

We would like to thank the friends and neighbors who were always so dear to her, especially Laura and Joe, who were like family.
