Sally Sight Roach, 85, passed away Monday, May 20, 2014.
Sally was born on December 16, 1928 in Kansas City, MO to Miriam Chafee and David Sight, co-owner of Sight Bros Chevrolet. She attended Border Star Grade school, Southwest High School and Monticello College.
She was a member of Country Club Congregational Church where she participated in the children's and high school choirs. She transferred to Country Club Christian Church after starting a family and dedicated her life to volunteer work.
Sally was a Red Cross Gray Lady at Veterans Hospital and V.P. of the Auxiliary to the Psychiatric Receiving Center. She also spent many hours volunteering at Heed School, KCTV 5 Call for Action, and S.M. Medical Center. She served on the Stone Haven Homeowner's Association Board of Directors, in Overland Park, KS where she built her home in 1985.
In 1967, Sally developed a passion for ice skating when the Ice Chateau opened and became a skating judge. She also pursued her love of singing by joining the S.M. Women's Chorale and the JCCC Chorus where she was recognized for her service as a Vol-Star.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves behind her daughter, Kathy Grassy; grandchildren, Bethany and Brain Cupp; great granddaughters, Hanna Cupp and Lily LaRue, and granddogs, Kalle , Max and Daisy "Woof, Mema".
A memorial service, in Sally's honor will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210.
