Sam, 85, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2008.
He will be remembered for his gentle ways, friendly smile and his positive attitude for living. Born June 28, 1923, in Cleveland Ohio, Sam was a graduate of University of Denver. Sam lived in more than 10 different states, including 22 years in Aiken, S.C., where he was active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He spent the past four years in Leawood, Kan. Sam was a man of honor. He served his country as a Naval officer in WWII and the Korean War. He worked in sales and management for Riegel Textile for over 25 years, and after retirement he sold real estate. Sam was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was married for 57 years to his late wife, Joan.
He is survived by his children - Sam Lind III (Donna), Deborah Kembell (Larry); grandchildren - Erica Bachtel (Warren), Courtney Lind, Brent Kembell, Sean Kembell (Cheri), and Cara Johnston (Kenny). Sam loved ice skating, swimming, hockey, tennis, bridge, and riding in his convertible. This fine gentlemen was grateful for his life and was loved by many.
A private service will be held on Thursday, July 10. Contributions to the American Cancer Society or Parkinson's Foundation.
