Sara Van Hercke

Sara Jane Baird Van Hercke, 81, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Overland Park, Kansas.

Jane was born December 20, 1936 in Independence Missouri to Lewis and Fern Baird. She graduated from William Chrisman High School and lived her entire life in the Kansas City area. Jane married Marvin E. Van Hercke (deceased) in 1955 and had four children.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Fern Baird, and her twin sister Virginia Lou Traylor. She is survived by a sister Phyllis Burmeister, Springfield, MO and by her four children, sons Mark (Dixie), Kenneth (Belinda), daughters Donna Markham (Steve) all of Kansas City, and Karen Van Hercke of Ft. Worth TX. She leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild.

A private family service will be held at a later time.  Memorial Contributions can be made in Jane's name to the American Cancer Society.  We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Delmar Gardens for caring for mom in her final years.
