Sarah Mae Boyce

Sarah Mae Boyce, age 85, of Merriam, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19^th, 2023 at Advent Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Sarah was born on December 3^rd, 1937 in LaCygne, KS to Charles and Sadie Louise Holman. She married the love of her life Kenneth “Bruce” on March 28^th, 1956 and later welcomed 3 sons. She was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church then Willard Ave Baptist Church. On most Sunday’s after church you could see her racing home to prepare for Sunday lunch with the family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her many dogs. Sarah took lots of trips to Branson, whether it be with her girlfriends or Bruce, every year to enjoy the shows and the atmosphere. She and Bruce went on many vacations, but Branson always seemed to call her back.

Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bruce Boyce; parents, Charles and Sadie Holman; brother, Bradley Holman; son, Charles Boyce and his wife Deborah Boyce; and great-grandson Brayden Boyce.

Survivors include her sons; Robert and Steven (Tina); eight grandchildren, Shanda (Steve), Christina, Amber (Cody), Bobby Jr, Mickey (Stacey), Tara (Dan), Craig and Sarah; niece Kim(Evan); and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday March 25^th at the Johnson County Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS with visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday prior to service. Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to an animal shelter of your choice (as she was a huge dog lover) or to Willard Avenue Baptist Church, 3205 Willard Ave, Kansas City, KS 66106.
