Shannon K. Turgeon-Styczykowski

Beloved Mother, Daughter, and Granddaughter, Shannon Kelly Turgeon-Styczykowski, 54, Overland Park, Kansas passed on Thursday, December 19th, 2024 with her family by her side. Shannon was born March 6th, 1970 in Lawrence, KS to Carol Turgeon Howitt and Orville Turgeon. Shannon graduated from Buffalo Grove High School and attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale where she was a member of the sorority Sigma Kappa. She then graduated from SIU-C in 1994 with a degree in communications. She then worked in hotels and hospitality for her career where she managed and opened several hotels in the Kansas City area. Shannon was a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and took pride in her Native American Heritage. She will be remembered for her kindness, leadership, forgiveness, and generosity.

 Shannon K. Turgeon-Styczykowski was preceded in death by her father Orville L. Turgeon and stepfather Ron L. Howitt; maternal grandparents, Stanley T. and Helen M. Odehnal of St. Louis, Missouri; paternal grandparents, Dolar and Mercy Turgeon of Valentine, Nebraska. Survivors include: Mother, Carol Turgeon Howitt of Overland Park, Kansas; Daughters, Hannah and Haley Styczykowski of Overland Park, Kansas; Step-Siblings, Julie (and Matt) Thompson and John (and Anne) Howitt of St. Louis, Missouri. Shannon’s family thanks you all at this time for the love and support that has been given during this difficult period.

 A celebration of life visitation will be held at 1pm Saturday, January 18th followed by a service at 2pm at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens. Burial services will be held at Bellerive Gardens of St. Louis, MO on Sunday, January 19th at 1:30pm where she will be laid to rest next to her late father, Orville Turgeon.
