Sharon Garrett

Our heavenly Father reached down and put His loving arms around Sharon Irene Garrett and took her home on Christmas day evening, Dec. 25, 2017 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.  Sharon was born September 23, 1942 in Denver, Colorado.  She spent her grade school years in Webster Groves, Missouri and Mission, Kansas.  During those years, she was a Brownie and Girl Scout.  She graduated with honors from Shawnee Mission North High School.  Sharon then attended Emporia State University and received her degrees in Business and Business Education.  She was also in the Delta Zeta Sorority where she was an officer.  The majority of her career was spent as a paralegal as well as a legal secretary for law firms in Kansas City, MO.  She loved her dogs and traveling with a good friend, Mary, to Breckenridge, Colorado each fall.  Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, William Austin and Verna Frances Garrett. She is survived by her brother, William D. Garrett of Vonore, TN.  Visitation will be Tuesday January 9, 2018 from 1-2:00pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave.  Burial will follow in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.   Memorial contributions are suggested to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Road, KC, MO. 64137.
