Sherry DeVault, 75, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by family, on June 3, 2022 in Olathe, Kansas.
Visitation will be at 10 am on Thursday, June 9, 2022, followed by a service at 11 am at New Hope Presbyterian (13310 S Black Bob Rd., Olathe, KS 66062) with Jim Baxtor officiating. Burial will follow at Olathe Memorial Cemetery (738 N Chestnut St., Olathe, KS 66061). Arrangements are by Johnson County Chapel & Memorial Gardens.
Sherry was born in Gardner, Kansas to Russell & Juanita Turner on November 30, 1946, the oldest of 3 children. She attended Olathe public schools and was a graduate of Olathe High School in 1964. She worked as an Administrative Professional for Culligan and a Sales Professional for Mobilfone and was a home maker for many years. Sherry was also a member of First United Presbyterian Church, formerly of Olathe, as well as New Hope Presbyterian Church of Olathe, where she served on various committees. She was recently the Treasurer for the Salvation Army’s Auxiliary Board, and a member of the Olathe Ladies Reading Circle, and loved to play Bunco with her friends from church.
Sherry loved to travel and took many trip to various countries with her husband, Gary, throughout their marriage. She was a very loving mother to her children and prioritized family time. She never missed any of her son’s baseball games or her daughter’s dance performances. She loved going to the Theatre, Museums, Art Fairs, Comedy Shows, reading and spending time with friends and family.
Sherry is preceded in death by Russell Turner (father), and Gary DeVault (spouse).
Sherry is survived by her Mother, Juanita Turner, her brother Jim Turner (Enza), sister Lisa Turner (Mary), her son, Sean Trammell (Melissa), daughter, Sarah Beck (Matt), grandchildren Austin & Jaycee Trammell, Lauren, Nick & Gabby Trammell, Cooper & Preston Beck, and her great-grand child Emmett Trammell.
Pallbearers will be Matt Beck, Austin Trammell, Nick Trammell, Bruce Hartley, Michael Wallen and Bob Montgomery
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hope Presbyterian Church Food Pantry .
The family of Sherry Turner wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the amazing people that prayed for Sherry, supported her, helped out in numerous way and sent cards during her illness and have sent well wishes to the family.
