Sheryl Lee Newman

Sheryl Lee Newman (Sherry), age 82 of Overland Park, Kansas, died April 12, 2020. She was born, November 24,1937 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Dallas and Pauline Donaldson.

Sherry attended Pittsburg State University whereshe met her husband William Warren Newman. They married January 31st 1960. Sherry and Warren resided in Overland Park, Kansas. She worked at Humana Hospital, now called (Overland Park Regional Hospital) in the Accounts Payable Department from 1979 - 1994.

Sherry was a devoted mom who loved to be involved with her children's activities. She was a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, and a cheerleading coach. Many charities were blessed by Sherry's willingness to help people in need, especially the two boys they sponsored from the Philippines. She was known for always having homemade cookies in the house. She loved to cook, make crafts and sew. She enjoyed giving her wood carvings and ceramics to others. Sherry loved being around her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

Survivors include son, Michael Newman (Trish Walker) of Lenexa, KS, daughter Heather Button (John) of Jackson, TN, Melissa Newman (Reed Gibson) of Spring Hill, KS, Marsha Eck (Bart) of Hendersonville, TN, and great-grandchildren Augustus, Annie, Katherine and Jackson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held later this year.
