SHIRLEY LEE BATES
Shirley Lee Bates, 74, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away on August 28, 2010 at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital in Gardner, Kansas from lung cancer.
Shirley was born February 21, 1936 in Gallatin, Tennessee. She was employed many years with General Electric Company in numerous administrative assistant positions. She was a member of Emanual Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years Donald Bates, her son and his wife John and Karen Sowinski, two grandchildren Chrissi Sowinski and John Eric Sowinski all of Seattle, Washington, and step daughter Betty Williams and grandson Ron Davis Jr. of Roanoke, Virginia.
Shirley will be interred at a later date in Huntsville, Alabama. In honor of Shirley, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 2400 Troost Ave., Suite 4300, Kansas City, Missouri, 64108.
