Shirley Ann Hagaman Galligani, age 74, of Overland Park, KS passed away on August 14, 2012 at her home after a valiant fight against lung cancer. She was born the sixth of seven children on June 20, 1938 in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Edna (Cable) and William Hagaman. Shirley was employed briefly by Downers Grove South High School. After 20 years of service, Shirley retired from the personnel department of JCPenney in Winston-Salem, NC and in Overland Park, KS. Shirley was a woman with a strong Catholic faith and had a great love for life.
Survivors include her husband, Joe, of the home; son, Michael (Patty) and Scott (Danielle); granddaughters, Samantha, Victoria and one great granddaughter, Lilli. She also leaves behind many dear friends in Illinois, North Carolina and Overland Park.
A Celebration of Shirley's life will be held from 6:30-8:30 PM, Friday, August 17, 2012 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Cremation is planned and inurnment will be held at a later date in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Nativity Interior Renewal Fund, 3800 W. 119th St, Leawood, KS 66209. www.kcnativity.org.
