Mrs. Shirley McElliott

Shirley Arlene McElliott, 82, Overland Park, passed away Friday July 24, 2015 at Village Shalom in Overland Park.  A private family graveside will be held at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Shirley are suggested to Kansas City Hospice.  Shirley was born in Iola Kansas on January 18, 1933 to Marion Spangler and Faye (Anderson) Spangler.  Shirley was married to Richard McElliott on January 18, 1951 and together they had five children.  Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and infant son, Roger McElliott.  She is survived by four children: Richard and his wife Becky, Robert and his wife, Pam, Russell and his wife, Tammy, and Patricia McElliott; a sister, Arla Jean Galbraith and her husband, Darrell; two brothers: Kenneth H. Spangler and his wife, Donna, and Stephen J. Spangler and his wife, Cathy; six grandchildren: Kimberly Freeman and her husband John, Brian Hiller and his wife, Morgan, Heather Sybesma and her husband, Billy, Haleigh McElliott, Jesse Murphy and John Murphy; twelve great-grandchildren: Jackson Bell, Jaylynn Bell, Liam Sybesma, Lylah Sybesma, Brantley Sybesma, Weston Freeman, Addison Hiller, Dylan Murphy, Haley Murphy, Shawn Butler, Ries Laster and Rian Laster.
