Mrs. Shirley Nachbar

Shirley Nachbar, 75, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 20th from 3:30 – 4:30 pm at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Ks, 66210. Funeral services will begin at 4:30 pm following visitation. The family suggests contributions to Odyssey Hospice.
Shirley was born on November 27, 1934 to Thure W. & Jeanette H. Peterson. She graduated from Shawnee Mission High School. She was baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Shirley was a stay at home mother when she was married until 1976 when she started working for Kahn, Kaufman, and Lerner accounting office until she retired in 1994. She had lived with her mother until 2001 in Leawood, Ks and Las Vegas, Nv until she permanently took up residency back in Overland Park, Ks.
Shirley always enjoyed the Friday evening bridge or pinochle game with her husband and parents throughout the years. She was well read collecting many author’s books along with enjoying a good game of scrabble.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Nachbar. Shirley is survived by her Mother Jeanette H. Peterson of Overland Park, Ks, 3 children, Roberta Hustead, Shelley Cimini & Ted Nachbar (Linda), 6 grandchildren, Michael & Robert Hustead, Adam & Kristen Nachbar, Anthony & Jimmy Cimini & 2 nieces, Mary Reno (Ron) & Carolyn Tice (Art).
