Stanley C. Hampton, 54, passed away April 14, 2015, at Kansas City Hospice House after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Stan was born March 1, 1961, in Tulsa, Okla. He graduated from Oklahoma State in 1984 and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He worked for Farmer's Insurance for 29 years. Stan was a bass player in many bands; his most recent was The Radio Flyers. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Velda. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kim, his father, Jim (Marge), sister, Kelly (Mike) Root, and his children, Blake and Meredith. His celebration of life will be Saturday, April 18, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66210. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with the celebration of life at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Olathe Public Schools Foundation in honor of Stan.
