Mr. Stephen Crume

Stephen "Steve" E. Crume, age 66, Overland Park, KS, died June 1, 2009. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 7th, 2 p.m. at D.W. Newcomers Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, June 6th, 6-8 p.m., at the chapel. Steve was born in Joplin, MO, on August 24, 1942. He moved to Overland Park, KS in 1968. Steve was employed by Met Life and SCM before semi-retiring in the 1980's to spend time with his family and to enjoy his hobbies of golf, gardening and tinkering with cars. He then returned to the business world by starting his own copier sales/repair company in Lenexa, KS and then moving it to Iola, KS. He had most recently included a restaurant/bar in Moran, KS to his many business ventures. He was a hard working businessman to the end. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Crume and 3 brothers; Mark Crume, Harold Crume and Bill Crume. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Susan (Stephens) Crume of the home; a daughter, Kelly (Jim) Setter Overland Park, KS; 2 sons, Scott (Erin) Crume Olathe, KS, and Brian Crume Overland Park, KS. He will be greatly missed by 5 grandchildren: Tyler and Samantha Setter and Maddy, Meg and Molly Crume. He also leaves a sister, Ada (Terry)Emmert, Riverton, KS; and a brother Noel (Kathy) Crume, Allen, TX, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We love you Steve, Dad, Papa!
