Stephen G. Anness, 65, passed away Thursday April 6th in his home in Olathe, KS. A celebration of his life will be held at Shawnee Country Club, 6404 Hedge Lane Terrace, Shawnee, KS 66203, at 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 13, 2017.
Steve “Stevie Ray” was born January 26th 1952 in New Bedford Massachusetts to George and Lois Anness. He attended the University of Massachusetts, where he was a Varsity golfer and graduated with a degree in Mathematics. While there, Steve met the love of his life, Maureen, whom he married in 1974. With a knack for sales, he moved his family to Overland Park, KS to start his own company, P&A Sales and Marketing where he worked until his passing.
Family, friends, and golf were his loves, always wanting to cook, entertain and hold court long into the night. He never met a stranger he was afraid to ask to dance or invite to be a member of his circle.
He is survived by his wife Maureen, children Michael (Lindsay), Kate, and Matthew (Katie Singh). Steve was an only child, but the Janick family provided siblings he called his own. He will not only be missed, but long remembered. He was one of a kind.
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Wounded Warriors Project or a cause dear to Steve’s heart, The Merritt Center, PO Box 2087, Payson AZ 85547, where PTSD veterans find help on their way to healing.
