Steve Harris, 69, Overland Park, KS, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at his home.

He was born on March 3, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri, and lived in the area his entire life. He owned Midwest Tile Dist. for 32 years. After retirement, he invented and received 3 US Patents for Lumber Loc hidden deck fasteners. He was an avid sportsman; sponsoring, coaching, and playing most of his life. His favorite pastime was spending time on his cattle ranch. He and his wife spent winters in South Texas for the past 8 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Penny Harris, two sons Brian Harris (Becky), and Steve Harris Jr. (Carol), and daughter Caylon Huckabay (Jay); a brother Greg Harris, two sisters Patricia Fohey and Gail Knapp; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., Thursday, July 16, and memorial service at 10 a.m., Friday, July 17, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. In Papa's normal way, do whatever you wish if you wish in regards to flowers or contributions.
