Steve Slobodzian, 68, passed away January 9th, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with COVID.
Steve was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. He became a transplant Royals and Chiefs fan when he moved to Kansas City in 1992. He was a loyal employee for Pepsi Cola for 38 years in both Chicago, IL and the Kansas City area. Steve loved to golf, watch his favorite sports teams, and travel with his wife in his spare time.
Steve was born to Emil and Majorie (Nault) Slobodzian on November 18th, 1952 in Chicago, IL. He was raised in the town of Mundelein, IL and his future wife lived just blocks away.
He married his wife Marge (Mathews) of 46 years on April 19th, 1974. They had two children, Lawrence and Michelle. Larry preceded his father in death and they are currently striking up political conversations. Marge and Steve lived in various places in the Chicago area before Marge and Steve transferred to Kansas City in 1992.
Steve was diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS about 10 years ago. He lived a very independent life overcoming struggles with his new limited mobility. His daughter and other family members would frequently do MuckFest in support of MS research and would ask for in lieu of flowers you also support MS research by clicking the link below.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents mentioned above, his two brothers, John and Thomas, and his son Lawrence.
He is survived by his wife Marge, his daughter Michelle and grandson Austin. He also is survived by his 2 grandchildren, Payton and Jacob, and Lawrence's wife, Rachel. There are many loving friends and family members all over the United States that will miss him dearly.
Steve died of COVID so his family will celebrate his life at a later date. Please keep in touch with his daughter or his wife if you would like to be included once this pandemic is over.
