Steven R. DeAtley, 55, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at his home in Leawood, KS.
Steve was born April 28, 1958, in Kansas City, MO, to Raymond C. and V. Jean DeAtley. He was a lifelong area resident. Steve spent 35 years working as a print shop supervisor for the Shawnee Mission School District. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs and KU Jayhawk basketball. Steve enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool and his 1995 Corvette. Above all, Steve loved his friends and family, his step son, Barry and especially being "Papa" to his granddaughter, Ella.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Steve is survived by his wife of 25 years, Maria DeAtley; step son, Barry Parker; granddaughter, Ella Glenn; mother, Jean DeAtley; sister, Debra (Larry) Taylor; brother, Timothy (Kim) DeAtley; nephew, Eric (Melissa) Taylor; nieces, Emily (Aaron) Pivonka and Sarah (Claudie) Mikessell; and great niece and nephews, Abigail, Daniel, Cristian.
