Sue Ann Sumner, 66, Overland Park, KS, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 with her family by her side.
She was a graduate of Emporia High School where she met the love of her life, Bob Sumner, her husband of 35 years. She was a cosmetologist and owned her own beauty shop for many years. She loved spending time with her family, her friends, her beloved dog Pumpkin and reading. She was involved in many social activities, including her local meetups. Sue's grandchildren, Madilyne, Brody, Blake, and Everly were her greatest source of pride and joy. Many of her weekends were spent at the ball field watching Brody and Blake and she enjoyed watching them all grow and cherished the special bond she had with each of them. She loved her siblings immensely and found great joy in spending time with them when they could gather.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Nettie Evelyn and Edward Lawrence Hicks; granddaughter, Madilyne; and her brother, David.
She is survived by her son, Dustin and his wife Jennifer of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Rachel Sumner of Overland Park, KS; two grandsons, Brody and Blake; and granddaughter, Everly.
