Susan Elizabeth Mowrer Anderson, 63, of Leawood, KS, passed away on October 24, 2015 at Kansas City Hospice.
Susan was born on September 24, 1952 in Kirksville, MO to John and Valdeen Mowrer. She was a creative, artistic, and outgoing person who made everyone smile who came in contact with her. She was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA and Equity. She taught theatre at the University of Miami and the University of Florida. She acted in numerous theatre productions in a variety of locations, including New York City. She attended Stevens College, the University of Missouri, and the University of Florida. She has an MFA from the University of Missouri. Susan loved watching her son play baseball, who in her mind, never threw a ball. She was the Activities Director at Leawood Country Club; she was a master at creating unique party and social activities that were loved by all. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and she loved her numerous cats and dogs like royalty. She will be terribly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and C. Valdeen Mowrer; parents-in-law, William and Mae Anderson; grandparents, Claude and Daisy Mowrer, Dolphus and Ruth Haigler; and her aunt, Virginia Haigler
Susan is survived by her husband, Michael; son, Erik (Felicia) of Omaha, NE; brother, Mike (Jean) Mowrer of Kennett, MO; sister, Linda (Rich) McCollom of the Villages, FL; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday October 27, 2015 at 4PM at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MS Society and Kansas City Hospice.
