Susan Lee Schieber of Leawood, Kansas passed away at 1:45AM on September 15, 2024.
Susan was a graduate of Missouri Valley College and also obtained a master’s degree in counseling from McMillan University. She had an extensive career, primarily in adolescent counseling and was passionate about her career.
Susan enjoyed reading and painting, as well as several other hobbies. Of all of things she enjoyed in life, there was nothing that she enjoyed more than grandchildren. Each of them were her “favorite” and she loved them all dearly. She loved being a grandmother.
Susan married her husband Bill on May 30th, 1998. In addition to being a wonderful grandmother, she was also a loving and devoted wife, as well as an amazing mother to her children.
Susan struggled with multiple health problems and spent the last several months of her life as a resident of Village Shalom Senior Living where she became a favorite of the staff and residents. These people made her last months on this earth more enjoyable and the family is so thankful for that. A big thank you to Brighton Hospice staff for being so caring and keeping Susan comfortable in her final days.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Patricia (McKay) Hollister. Susan is survived by her husband of 26 years, Bill, son Robert Piasecki and daughter Kristen (Jamie) Guernsey. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Jacob Guernsey, Zackery Guernsey, Alyssa Guernsey, and Joey Piasecki.
Services will be held at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens on Saturday, September 28, 2024. There will be a visitation at 11:00am followed by service at 12:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Alzheimer's Association or Susan B Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
