Susanne (Sue) Grant

Susanne (Sue) Gundersen Grant, 92, of Leawood, Kansas passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Sue was born August 16, 1922 in Norway to Harry and Madga Gundersen. Sue’s family immigrated to the United States in 1929 and lived in numerous cities along the east coast as her father moved for his job.
On June 14, 1944 she married Ernest Grant. Sue and Ernie moved to Overland Park in 1957 and made Kansas their home. Sue worked various jobs but mostly enjoyed raising her three children. Sue and her family are charter members of Atonement Lutheran Church.
Sue was preceded in death by Ernie, her husband of 56 years, her parents, two brothers and a son-in-law. Sue is survived by her three children, Linda (Dick) Hillman of Greeley, CO; Virginia Pope of Louisburg, KS; and Bill (Nancy) Grant of Overland Park, KS. Sue is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A visitation for Sue will be held on Sunday, March 1 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, from 3 to 5 pm. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Olathe Medical Center Hospice House or Atonement Lutheran Church.
