Suzanne Rutz, 78, Overland Park, KS, passed away on July 16, 2017, at her home, from her battle with cancer.
Suzanne was born on November 10, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Glenniss and Delbert Harper. She was a graduate of LuVerne, Iowa High School in 1956 and then graduated from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa in 1959. She married Norman H. Rutz on June 28, 1959 in Hampton, Iowa. She was a nurse in several Iowa hospitals prior to moving to Overland Park, KS in 1984.
She enjoyed her family, her home, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan!
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Norm; her children, Lisa (Tom) Riggs, NJ (Karen) Rutz; four grandchildren, Darci (Michael) Bray, Erica Rutz, Tyler (Jenah) Riggs, and Lindsey Rutz; 4 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Mallori, Cohen, and Presli Bray; three sisters, Donna (Jerome) Stripling, Karen Collins, Jane (Jay) Crawford; and one brother, David (Anne) Harper.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 20, 1-2PM, memorial service beginning at 2PM, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 9101 Lamar Ave, Overland Park, KS. Inurnment will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS.
