Ted Scharnhorst, 80, of Leawood, a Kansas City area business owner, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Born October 8, 1928 in Wichita, Ted was a manufacturer’s representative for more than 25 years, specializing in office furniture and equipment. He retired from Tee Jay Associates Inc. in 1980, and then opened RV America, a motor home dealership.
Ted enjoyed international and domestic travel, fishing, and time spent with family and friends. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marcie, of the home; along with daughters Debbie Hartwell and Angie Scharnhorst of Overland Park, and Vicki Scharnhorst of Boulder, CO; and grandchildren, Eric Hartwell of Gardner, Brian and Taylor Hartwell and Gus Scharnhorst of Overland Park, and Lars and Linnea Emerson of Boulder, CO.
A memorial service is scheduled at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 28th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf in Overland Park. A visitation will immediately follow.
