Teresa Ann Jacobs

Teresa (Terry) Ann Jacobs met her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 14, when she passed away at home following a years-long battle with cancer. Terry was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, caring daughter, and bratty sister. Terry had countless friends from work, church, and school. Her warm heart, roguish laughter, and unwavering love enriched the lives of all who crossed her path. Terry had a gift for bringing people together; her kindness and compassion knew no bounds. 

Terry will be missed by the many people she called friends and loved endlessly by those whose lives she touched.

Terry was born into this world on July 20, 1956, and she was a lifelong resident of Overland Park. Following her graduation from the University of Kansas, Terry provided leadership in human resources to several local companies before retiring from McCray Lumber in 2019.

Surviving Terry is her husband, Brian Jacobs, her son Andrew Holder, and his wife, Julie, and two grandsons, Dylan (5) and Austin (6 months). Terry’s mother, Bette Scafe. Her father, Myron, and his wife, Marilyn. Two brothers, Greg and his wife Barb, and Brad and Kim. In addition, Terry was the sassy aunt to five nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service to celebrate Terry’s life will be held Friday, September 22, at Johnson County Funeral Home. The memorial service starts at 2:00 PM, followed by a gathering of friends and family beginning at 2:45.

As we bid farewell to Terry, let us cherish the memories we shared and the love she gave us. Her spirit will live on in our hearts, and her legacy will continue to inspire us.
