Tessie Defenbaugh

Tessie Ann Defenbaugh, Age 69 of Gold Canyon, AZ passed away December 8, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Tess was born on July 12, 1949 in Ogden, Utah, to Emil and Tessie Edsinga.

Married to Steve Defenbaugh in 1969, they had two daughters, Cherie and Dencia. Making their home in Overland Park, KS, Tess balanced raising her daughters with golfing with "The Girlfriends," but nothing brought her more joy than time spent adoring her grandchildren. In retirement, Tess and Steve traveled extensively, ultimately leaving the Kansas winters behind and making their home in Gold Canyon, AZ, where Tess enjoyed a perfect view of Superstition Mountain, which she playfully called "her mountain."

Tess was preceded in death by her father Emil Edsinga, brother Jeff Edsinga and father-in-law Elmer Defenbaugh.

Tess is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Steven Defenbaugh; daughters Cherie Curtis (Scott), Dencia Golfinopoulos (Dimitri), grandchildren Trevor, Trenton, Alexandra and Steven, mother Tessie Edsinga, brother Scot Edisinga (Nancy), sister Patrice Pond (Robert), mother-in-law Helen Defenbaugh, sister-in-law Jackie Frady (Steve), many nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held after the holidays with details in a future notice.
