Mr. Thayne Johnson

Thayne Iden, Johnson, age 86, Overland Park, KS passed away Wednesday March 17, 2010, at Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be 12-1:00p.m., March 22, 2010, at Johnson County Memorial Gardens (11200 Metcalf) followed by funeral services at 1:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd, KC, MO 64145, Alzheimer’s Assoc., 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208 or charity of one’s choice. Thayne was born July 17th, 1923, in Pleasanton, KS. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and completed 35 combat missions over Germany as the flight engineer on a B-17. He attended Kansas State University, worked for General Motors, and spent most of his career in the auto industry. He was a proud father and grandparent as well as an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife of 63 years Mary Johnson, daughter Candy Kempf (David-deceased), son Clint Johnson (Julie), sister Ernestine Johnson, 7 grand children, and 7 great grand children.
