Thelma L. Burke, 79, Belton, Missouri passed away December 10, 2009. A visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Monday, December 14, 2009 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 15, 2009, also at the chapel. Interment in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family requests contributions to the American Heart Association, 6800 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66212.
Thelma was born August 11, 1930 in Stilwell, Kansas. She was a member of Belton United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Burke; and son, Kevin Burke. Survivors include two daughters; Linda Burke of Belton, Missouri and Patricia (Ron) Smith of Jacksonville, Florida; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister, Marie (Clifford) Keith of Bennett Springs, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
