Thelma Beatrice Fields, 91, Leawood, KS passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008. A funeral service will be held 2 PM, Saturday, Dec. 27 at Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64113. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Country Club Christian Church Endowment Fund.
Thelma was born April 7, 1917 in Cameron, OK to William and Della Brown. She attended grade school through high school in Quinton, OK. On May 5, 1945 she married John S. Fields and moved to Oklahoma City. They later moved to the Kansas City area in 1955.
Thelma was a long time member of Country Club Christian Church, where she was active in Women’s Fellowship Church Circle, co-president of Sunday School 50/50 Class and worked on various other church projects. Above all she was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, socializing with friends, church activities, and other volunteer work.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, William Russell Brown; and sister, Betty Jo Seaborn. Survivors include her husband, John; daughter, Mary Alice Boten and her husband, Tom; and granddaughter, Lindsay Boten.
