Thomas Elwood

Thomas E. Elwood born Feb. 24, 1922, passed away in his sleep on Sept. 30, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House. He served in World War II in the European theater, and was an artillery loader in the third army under George S. Patton. He retired from Associated Grocery after 27 years. In his retirement years Thomas was an avid bowler year round.
Pop was an avid family man and loving husband. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary. He is survived by 4 children; James (Carol) Elwood, Thomas H. Elwood, Donald (Kristina) Elwood and Connie (Daryl) Nutt. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great, grandchild.
Visitation will be held at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210 on Oct. 3, 2012 from 6 – 8 PM and funeral services will held the following morning at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers the family request Memorial Contributions be sent to Kansas City Hospice House 1200 Wornall Rd. KC, MO 64145.
