THOMAS J. ZYCH
Thomas J. Zych, 70, of Overland Park, KS went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, TN surrounded by his family. He was born October 18, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph James and Sophia Koterla Zych. Mr. Zych was a retired Manager with Zurich Insurance. He spent his retirement years working part time at Home Depot. He was active in life playing softball, bowling and woodworking. He so loved to play with his grandchildren. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who will also be missed by his 2 dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Ruth Smerz Zych of Overland Park, KS, daughter Katherine and husband Dewayne McAllister of Olathe, KS, son Joe and wife Kelli Zych of Hickory, NC, daughter Jennifer and husband Michael Davis of Wichita, KS, and six grandchildren, Sean and Connor McAllister, Kaitlyn and Ryan Zych and Laurin and Noah Davis. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 13145 S Blackbob Rd, Olathe, KS 66062 or Cookeville Regional Medical Center CVICU Foundation, 1 Medical Center Boulevard, Cookeville, TN 38501 to assist the gracious people who gave the family those last precious days with Tom. Memorial services will be held at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Olathe, KS, (913) 780-6023 on January 15th, 2011. Burial will be at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
