Thomas McCuiston

November 2, 1931 — July 6, 2015

Tom McCuiston, 83, of Overland Park, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at the home with his wife of 55 years at his side. Tom was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK, and graduated from Oklahoma A&M in 1954. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.  After college, he served as a first lieutenant in the US Army, where he was stationed in and developed a love for Germany. Tom was a well-respected member of the Kansas City bowling community.  He was a member of 2 area Bowling Halls of Fame, attended the national ABC tournament for 44 consecutive years, and bowled numerous 300 games and 800 series. Tom retired from AT&T after 31 years of service and spent the rest of his days enjoying family, friends, bowling, and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his parents A.V. and Atha McCuiston and brother Jim McCuiston.  He is survived by his wife Lillian McCuiston of the home; son and daughter-in-law Tim and Susie McCuiston of Overland Park, KS; daughter and son-in-law Malinda and Tom Ralston and their children Patrick and Shelby of Pleasant Hill, MO; daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Chuck Ammel and their children Sarah and Stephanie of Lenexa, KS; sister Atha DeWoody of Dallas, TX; sister Sarah Jacob of Houston TX; and sister-in-law June McCuiston of Oklahoma City.  Services will be held at Johnson County Funeral Chapel at 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS on Friday, July 10 at 11:00AM with visitation beginning at 10:00.  Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson Foundation Heartland, 8900 State Line Road, Ste. 320, Leawood Kansas 66206.  http://parkinsonheartland.org
