THOMAS L. SEITZ, 89, passed away on September 15, 2013 at Aberdeen Village in Olathe, where he lived for the past 8 years. Tom was born and raised in Jefferson, WI to Ernest B. and Rose A. Seitz. He has called Overland Park home since 1969.
He attended Milwaukee School of Engineering where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. Tom was a World War II vetran. He met his wife Margaret (Pat) O'Bert in Milwaukee. They enjoyed 55 wonderful years together, until her death in 2000. His hobbies included cooking, woodworking and growing Bonsai trees. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, father, wife Pat, and his grandson Jordan Day. He is survived by daughters Kathe Thorup (Dan) and Cindi Day (Curt). He is also survived by grandsons Tony Thorup (fiancée Danielle Zeets), Chris Thorup (Jennifer), Andy Day (Erica) and his granddaughter Allison Needleman (Mikey). He is also survived by great- grandsons Taylen Thorup and Michael Jordan Needleman, due in November.
Cremation. In memory of Tom, a private family celebration will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Back Snack Program at Pioneer Trail Middle School, 15100 W. 127th Street, Olathe KS 66062 (att. Jane Jones). The program provides weekend meals for students in need of assistance.
Tom was kind, generous, and had a unique sense of humor. He enjoyed good food, good wine, and good company. Cheers to you! We love you and miss you.
