THOMAS M. "TOMMY" WILLIAMS
Thomas M. "Tommy" Williams, age 89, passed away July 9, 2010, at Villa St. Joseph, Overland Park, Kan., from multiple myeloma. A "new Christian" has gone home. Mr. Williams was born December 17, 1920, in Coffee, Mo. He was a well- known professional Musician, music teacher, restaurant owner, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He played tenor sax, clarinet and flute with "The Great" and "Near Great." Tommy was a member of the Tony Di Pardo Orchestra for over 50 years; he played for the KC Chiefs from their inception in 1963 until his retirement. He played with KC Kings, Worlds of Fun Orchestra and numerous local and nationally famous artists. Tommy was a veteran of World War II in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Bernice, and his mother, Pearl. Survivors include his devoted wife of 16 years, Barbara Baker Williams, singer / entertainer; two sons: Ronald and wife Judy of Richmond, Va., Lawrence and wife Denise of LA, Calif., and a daughter, Candyce Goldman of LA, Calif.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are his stepchildren Lisa Bronston Peebles and husband Bruce, two children Kyle and Michael of Nashville, Tenn., and Thomas Burke Bronston and wife Jennifer, two children Kurtis and Matthew of Atlanta, Ga., and four grandsons.
