Timothy Patrick Hankins, 45, of Olathe, KS, passed away November 3, 2012. Tim was born October 10, 1967, in Springfield, MO. He was a founding member of The Wingtips, a popular five-man a cappella singing group. The Wingtips shared stages with Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Frankie Avalon, and performed for President Bush. They were long-time featured performers for the Springfield area civic functions and other charity events. For over 15 years Tim worked in sales and marketing for several major pharmaceutical companies, including Roche Labs, Johnson & Johnson, Bayer and NeuroScience. Tim is survived by his wife, Jodi, of 18 years, and their two children, Alexis (14) and Tim (13) of the home; parents, Tim and Pat Hankins; and sister Holly Kelley, all of Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66210. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m., also at the chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
