Vacil I. Sullens, Jr., age 69 of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2007 at his home.
Vacil was born August 22, 1937 to Vacil & Mary Katherine (Prange) Sullens in Wichita, Kansas. He was a civil engineer, graduated from Kansas State University and enjoyed scuba diving, playing poker, bridge, and chess.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Carla of the home; daughter Vicky Bruner and her husband Richard of Salina, Kansas, daughter Juli Mandala and her husband Larry of Dallas, Texas; and four grandchildren, Jonathan Sullens-Bruner, Sean Bruner, Ian Bruner, and Rhyanna Bruner all of Salina, Kansas.
A celebration of his life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 11300 West 103rd Street with a gathering of family and friends 12:00-1:00 p.m. prior to the mass. The family suggests contributions in Vacil's name be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
