Velma J. Como, 83, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away Monday, August 18, 2008.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23 at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 2 PM at the chapel. Interment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Como. She is survived by daughters Ann Ryder (Bob) of Olathe, KS and Patty Guyer of Lenexa, KS; son John Paulsen of Overland Park, KS; niece Mary Kay Furr; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Indian Creek Nursing Center for the excellent care and friendship they provided our mother. The family would also like to thank Grace Hospice for their wonderful care. Velma considered friendship the greatest treasure in life.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer?s Association of Kansas City.
