Verl L. King, MSGT, 76, of Leawood, Kansas died July 14, 2020. He was born on July 19, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harold & Mary King (Steggell). Verl joined the Air Force at age 18, and had a 20 year career in the Strategic Air Command. He served our country during the Vietnam War and retired with military honors. The military was the highlight of his life along with his wife Christina who he was married to for 47 years. Verl will be laid to rest on the anniversary of their very first date. Verl is survived by his wife Christina King (Efstathiou), his son Christopher King of Phoenix AZ, his daughter Helen Shaffer (David) of Surprise, AZ, daughter Laura Bodine (Joseph) of Leawood, KS. Verl had five (5) grand-children, Nicholas Langefeld, Austin Bodine (Roxie), Brianna Bodine, Christopher King, Alexander King and one (1) great-grandson, Bennett Bodine. Verl is also survived by his sister, Mildred Thuet (Colton) of Salt Lake City, Utah and his brother and best friend, Harold Dean King (Diane) and Nephew David King (Kaitlin) of Phoenix, AZ.
