Verna "Vicky" Reifel

Verna "Vicky" Reifel, 98, passed away on June 12, 2017 in Merriam, Kansas. She was born in Clay Center, Kansas on November 11, 1918 to Jake and Esther Fahlstrom.
Born when the bells were ringing for the end of WWI. She had sixty years of marriage with husband Al. She leaves behind sons Keith and Stan, a daughter, Renee McGaughey, son-in-law, Greg; four grandchildren Dawn Bernard (husband Ren), Shane Lickteig (wife Krista), Luke Lickteig and Amber Ammon (husband Dennis); four great grandchildren Sevia Bernard, Wyatt Ammon, Luna Lickteig and one on the way.
Her hobbies were family, baking and volunteering at Bethany Lutheran Church from its beginning as a charter member family, teaching children's Sunday School, midweek Bible classes, evangelism, making brail books, Women’s Circle, Alterguild, and Women’s Lutheran League and more.
Visitation is scheduled for June 16, 2017 at 10:00 am at Bethany Lutheran Church, 91st and Lamar, Overland Park, with services at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, we suggest contributions to Trost Scholarship for Lutheran School, Bethany Lutheran Church, 9101 Lamar, Overland Park, KS 66207.
