Victoria Cochran

Conceived in Dreux, France and born at Storemont Veil in Topeka, KS, Victoria traveled the world. Moving with the family to London, England in the mid sixties. Then Itazuke, Japan in the late sixties and returning home to Topeka in 1971, where she began the next chapter in her life. Soon came marriage and the birth of her daughter Malika and not long after, Jason.

Always looking forward, she became a single mom and moved her family to be closer to her parents in Anchorage, AK. Living in Alaska brought challenges, stability and new opportunities. Soon her brother Garret joined the family in Anchorage, bringing the Boykin family back together. With the illness of her dad Lawrence in the mid ‘80’s the Boykin family was on the move again, stopping this time in Kansas City.

Tori’s love for people, music and animals continued to thrive in Kansas City. She stayed busy as a member of the KC Koolers, a local line dance team. She loved her many pets and would even buy food for wildlife to eat in the winter. She had a welcoming smile and personality that nobody could deny. She loved laughing and making others laugh. She loved to read a good book and later analyze the movie adaptation. She loved to go to concerts like Prince, Parliament, Maze and Michael Jackson. Tori truly enjoyed her life.

In her later years, Tori found serenity in her dream cabin by the lake in Clinton, MO, with amazing sunsets surrounded by nature. As she began home renovations in preparation for life’s next adventure, Tori moved back to Kansas City, MO living out her final days surrounded by family and the love that she so generously shared. Tori passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024 at home. Tori’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by her creativity and her passion for life.
