Virgil K. Adair, 73, Stilwell, KS passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 2 at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Visitation will be 10-11 am prior to the service at the chapel. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Virgil was born Sept. 4, 1934 in Ulysses, KS to Ernest C. and Alta I. (Wheeler) Adair. He attended Ulysses Schools, played all sports and graduated in 1952. He attended Hutchison (KS) Junior College and Kansas University, and then subsequently received his college degree while still in the Navy. He continued his active and reserve time in the Navy until retirement. He later worked for several years in computer-related fields and for the past 10 years he was a manager at Stor-It-Park-It-South in Stilwell, KS.
Survivors include his four children, Karen Gainey, David Adair, Darryl Adair, Kristi Dean and their families; including 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Ernest ?Tony? Adair; sister, Norean Bailey and their families.
