Virginia Mae Groll Smith, 89, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Vintage Park. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 2:00 pm at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Virginia was born on June 6, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley of 43 years and two grandchildren Brian Murphy and Angela Murphy. Survivors include her daughters Susan Herring, Pat Thompson, son-in-law Mark Herring, and grandchildren Chelsea Herring, Cale Herring and Taylor Murphy.
