Virginia M. Black, age 90, a longtime resident of Topeka, KS, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011. She was born on February 16, 1921 in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Ellen (Cullen) and Charles McCauley. Virginia worked as a beautician in her youth and as an accounting clerk later in life. She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, bowling, and spending quality time with her friends.
Virginia married Robert L. Black on July 14, 1949, in Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death in 1964. Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Black Reagan and her husband, Doug, of Spring Hill, KS; grandson Brendan Reagan and his wife, Krystle, of Ft. Collins, CO, and sister, Helen A. McCauley, of Spring Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Catharine McCauley, and brothers Francis “Bud” McCauley and Harry McCauley, and one grandson, Ross Reagan.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
