Virginia Blanton Hanson, 87, of Kansas City, KS passed away Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 at KU Medical Center.  She was born November 24th,1934 in Memphis, TN the daughter of John Hutto and Nell Forester Hutto who preceded her in death.

Virginia was united in marriage to Walter Hanson, Sr. who preceded her in death February 10, 1981.

Virginia lived in Memphis, TN and moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1968.  She loved being outdoors planting flowers and feeding the birds.  She loved taking care of her son James Hanson.  She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  She treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Virginia is preceded in death by 5 children.  Three sons: Mason Hanson III of Kansas City, KS, Walter Hanson of Kansas City, KS and David Hanson of Memphis, TN; two daughters:  Terry Vaugn of Platte City, MO and Mary Elisabeth (Sandy) Dorsey of Tipton, GA.

Virginia is survived by three children:  James Hanson of Kansas City, KS, Donald Hanson of Kansas City, KS and Vickie Hanson of Kansas City, KS; 47 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
