Virginia Price Owen born July 20, 1916, died January 23, 2007.
Virginia passed away January 23, 2007 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Virginia was a life-long resident of Kansas. She was a graduate from KU in 1937 and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. Virginia and her first husband Joe Price owned and operated Price Rug and Draperies, in old downtown Overland Park. After Joe's death in 1958, she opened her own interior design business and later married Robert Owen. After Robert's death, she devoted her time to her design business and traveling the world. She was a very active member of the Overland Park Historical Society. Along with membership in the Johnson County Historical Society, and was an active member of ZONTA International.
Surviving are her two sons William and Pete Price, two grandsons Joe and Michael Price and his wife Sonja. Great Grandchildren Brandon, Haven, Bishop, Kaileigh, Mikel, and her friend and caregiver J. P. Williams.
Visitation will be at Newcomer's at Johnson County Chapel, Friday, January 26, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Funeral for family and friends will start at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 27, at Newcomer's in Overland Park, Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas 913-451-1860. The many friends and business associates of Virginia will be informed of a celebration of Virginia's life in the early spring at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Head Start of Overland Park.
