Vivian M. Marquardt, 61, Overland Park, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family.
Vivian was born March 1, 1946 in Kansas City, MO. She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Dennis for 41 years. She graduated from Ruskin High School in 1964 and attended Kansas City Business College. She was employed by ConAgra foods and retired after 30 years of service in October 2006. She was currently employed by Armour-Eckrich.
Vivian was preceded in death by her father, John Gentry Jr.; father-in-law, Lee Marquardt; and both sets of grandparents.Survivors include her husband Dennis of Overland Park; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Melynda Marquardt and their children Elysa and Kelsey of Olathe; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Clint Guth and their children Caley and Chloe of Huntington Beach, CA; mother, Dorothy M. Gentry of Overland Park; sister and brother-in-law Vicki and Dale Coble of Stilwell; two nephews, Phillip and Jason Rankin; mother-in-law, Margaret Marquardt of Lee?s Summit; and many other loving relatives and friends. A special thank you to Aunt Margaret. Vivian will always be known for her quiet strength and cherished by her family, friends, and co-workers. She will always be in our hearts.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park. Following the service there will be a visitation in the chapel until 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Odyssey Healthcare.
