Vivian Bowman, 83, passed away February 3, 2020 at Kansas City Hospice House from a weakened heart and lungs. She was a Christmas Baby, born on December 25, 1936, to Fred and Sally Berry, in Hugo, MO.
On January 19, 1957, Vivian married Thomas Gregory Bowman. They shared over 53 years of marriage prior to his death in 2010. Vivian graduated from Central High School, Kansas City, MO. Later in marriage she worked for the Palace clothing Company as an Assistant Buyer. She also worked for several Doctor’s offices as an Office Manager.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, fashion, reading and golf. She and Tom loved dancing, traveling and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Vivian was a long time member of Atonement Lutheran Church and was involved in the Altar Guild.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tom, and daughter, Beverly (Bowman) Niksich.
She is survived by one daughter, Dana (Vance) Rzepka, son-in-law, Michael Niksich. Grandchildren; Greg Stanislaus (Matt Peterson), Meghan (Clif) Nelson, Tyler (Amy) Rzepka and Tom (Val) Rzepka. Six great-grandchildren; Ella and Tess Rzepka, Eric and Vivian Rzepka, James and Haley Nelson; and one brother, Joe Berry.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 13, at Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66212.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Atonement Lutheran Church Altar Guild.
