Wanda Virginia Dunaway, 85, passed away Saturday, April 28th 2007 at her home.
A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Wanda married her childhood sweetheart, Kenneth, on September 7, 1940. She and Kenneth were charter members of Colonial Presbyterian Church and former members of Prairie Baptist Church. In addition to spending time with her children and grandchildren, Wanda loved socializing with her fellow volunteers at Youth for Christ where she contributed her time for over 10 years.
Wanda is preceded in death by her brother Raymond Ferris, and her (infant) son, Kenneth P. Dunaway, III. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth P. Dunaway, Jr. and their three daughters, Virginia Mori, Nancy Borel, and Peggy Bernath; four granddaughters, three grandsons, and one great-grandson.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1st at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, Missouri. A gathering of family and friends will be held 12:00 ? 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Wanda?s name be made to Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.
