Wanda Marie Fisher, nee McClintock, passed on August 18, 2023, her 97th birthday, at Life Care Center of Kansas City. She was born August 18, 1926 in Kansas City, Kansas to Daisy and Arthur McClintock. It was a large family and she was the oldest girl, so she helped care for her younger siblings. She also had an interest in music and played the piano at home, being self taught.
She had to quit high school in order to get a job and help support the family, but in later years earned her G.E.D. She worked in production and was a proud union member at Sunshine Biscuit Company for almost 40 years before retiring.
Wanda was a strong person, and tended to be frugal, but could also be very generous to others. In the words of her surviving brother, Robert, "She was the greatest sister a man could have and ever lived. She was like his second Mom. She would bring him and his twin sister, Barbara, milk. Boy, did I love her. I really miss her. She was my inspiration to want to live."
She lived a long, full life and she will be missed by many. She leaves daughter Kathleen Susan Fisher Coffin, of Kansas City, Kansas, and brother Robert McClintock and family, of Independence, Missouri, plus many nieces and nephews.
